On September 27, the trial study program Engineering - tryING ended successfully after 8 weeks.

The orientation program is aimed at women interested in studying who are thinking about starting an engineering degree. From August 5 to September 27, 2024, the participants were guests at TUD as trial students and were able to get to know university life and try out numerous ING degree programs.

In various workshops, the participants researched future technologies, met female scientists and exchanged ideas with female students who are already studying engineering at TUD. Excursions to companies in the region gave them an insight into the everyday working life of a female engineer before they start their studies. In addition, the math pre-course was an essential part of tryING, so that the future first semester students have the best possible start to their studies at TU Dresden.

The feedback from this year's participants was extremely positive. The mixture of mathematics, workshops and excursions provided a good insight into the course and possible future careers. The participants were enthusiastic about the variety of workshops and the insight into current research and feel well prepared for an engineering degree thanks to the math pre-course. The majority of the participants will start studying engineering at the TUD in October.

The organizer Dr. Sylvi Bianchin from Unit Diversity Management would like to thank everyone involved for the organization and implementation of the many different workshops, without their special commitment the implementation of the program would not be possible.

Next year, the engineering tryING program will take place at TUD from the beginning of August to mid-September.
