TU OPEN AREA NAME CONTEST
What do you call a spot on campus that can be booked and used by the TUD community and external users for events, exhibitions, or food trucks? The project team Masterplan Campusgestaltung, which includes the Institute of Landscape Architecture and the departments of Facility Management, University Culture, and Strategy and Communication, is inviting participants to take part in a naming competition.
The spots are located in front of the Auditorium (facing Bergstrasse) and at the Günther Landgraf Building directly next to the Alte Mensa. By October 2021, open areas that can be used in a variety of ways and that have electricity and, at best, water connections are to be created here. Following the construction work, a booking system will make it quick and easy to register for use. Depending on whether an exhibition, event, open-air slam or sporting activities such as yoga or course events are to take place - thanks to the power connection, speakers, lighting or other equipment can be used. The area will also be available for versatile gastronomic ideas (food trucks, ice cream bar, or similar) in the future. Space for creativity - this is the basic idea behind these small open area.
Ideas for a name that will be used for the first two areas, but also for all other areas that will be created over time, can be submitted via online until July 9, 2021. Beginning July 10, 2021, the link to the public vote on the finalist will be found on this webpage too. Three prizes will be drawn from all submissions.
