Queer Parenthood - interdisciplinary event series at the TUDOf mothers, mapas and pregnant fathers: empirical insights into queer practices of reproduction
One, two, three or four parents, "sponcles", "mapas" and lesbian procreative acts - who or what family is and how it is formed has multiplied over the past decades. Based on qualitative interviews conducted with lesbian and queer couples as well as pregnant trans* men, the lecture explores how the interviewees imagine and practice family, kinship, gender and reproduction. The aim is to give an insight into their life-world experiences and to ask which new inclusions and exclusions of queer family lifestyles can be observed against the background of current social and legal developments.
Speaker: Dr. Sarah Dionisius, psychosocial counsellor* at the queer centre rubicon e.V. in Cologne and specialist* at the International Society for Educational Support in Frankfurt am Main as well as freelance educational work on sexual, gender and family diversity and queer-sensitive pregnancy support and obstetrics.
You can also participate in the event digitally.
