INFORMATIK 2026 — GI Conference Brings 1,000 Participants to TU Dresden

The central theme of INFORMATIK 2026, which is being co-organized under the leadership of Prof. Florian Tschorsch, is “Digital Resilience.” The conference will take place from September 22 to 25, 2026, at TU Dresden’s Andreas-Pfitzmann-Bau. The focus is on new approaches that make digital systems more resilient—not only technically, but also socially.

ScaDS.AI Dresden/Leipzig will open its Living Lab to conference participants on September 22 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and on September 23, from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Visitors can explore interactive demonstrations from the fields of artificial intelligence and data science and gain insights into the work of a German AI competence center. Topics presented include machine learning, generative AI, image segmentation, and more. The ScaDS.AI team will also be available for questions and discussions about the topics presented.

The ZIH team behind the research software Morpheus is organizing the workshop “MorpheusML: Modelling and Simulation in the Life Sciences” on September 25, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Andreas-Pfitzmann-Bau (APB/E008). The workshop focuses on reproducible modelling and simulation in the life sciences, covering topics ranging from research integrity and the challenges posed by generative AI to standardisation and virtual human twins. Various application examples will showcase the MorpheusML standard and its model repository. In the afternoon, a hackathon will provide an opportunity to work together on models. TUD members are also welcome to attend.

Part of the festival are the Legal and Administrative Informatics Conference (RVI 2026) on the digitization of government and administration, as well as SKILL2026, the GI student conference.

INFORMATIK has evolved into a festival with a focus on networking. The varied evening program contributes to this—it kicks off on September 22 with the Welcome Reception, followed in the coming days by the Community Dinner at Albrechtsberg Castle and the Junge GI Festival Night featuring a Science Slam.

TU members can attend the sessions free of charge, and free childcare is provided every day.
