Login Server

All users with a valid ZIH login can use the central login server. Using Linux, it offers the usual programs for word processing, shell script programming, C compiler and alphanumeric mail programs. Programs for compressing an decompressing files are also installed.

All servers allow access with Secure Shell and file transferring can be done with Secure Copy or Secure FTP.

The personal home directory ($ HOME) is available as well as personal web domains ($ Home / public_html). All domains are subject to a fixed disc quota. This amount is currently 20 GB. It is possible to go over this quota for a short period of time, but if you require a larger amount permanently, please call the ZIH Service Desk.
