10 years of ZiLL - if that's not a reason to celebrate!

We are proud that the Center for Interdisciplinary Learning and Teaching can look back on its 10th anniversary this year and that it has become an important player in supporting teaching at the TUD.
And we want to celebrate this - together with you.

Our anniversary celebrations kicked off
with an interactive discovery tour on 24.01.2024.
Around 65 visitors were curious to find out who had actually moved into the basement of the Fritz Foerster Building.

Questions were answered, discussions were held and the odd tricky task was solved in order to get to know the ZiLL better - whether it was visiting the "Seminar Room of Horror", solving a VR scenario or a quiz on university didactic myths. In addition to many new and inspiring insights, the visitors were also delighted to win small prizes.

As we all know, once is not always a good thing, so we look forward to welcoming you to a wide range of other events in the ZiLL anniversary year!

Impressions of the ZiLL discovery tour

The teaching workshop is an open format that invited lecturers on March 28, 2024 to jointly develop the concept and methodology of their own course for the summer semester. Guided by keynote speeches, discussions with colleagues and advice from didactics experts, a total of twelve participants spent an intensive day focused entirely on course planning and development.

They enthusiastically formulated their own teaching and learning goals, chose focal points and took a critical and constructive look at their own teaching. We would like to thank everyone involved for their participation and support.

E-Teaching-Day

Sowohl das ZiLL als Unterstützungsstruktur für die Lehre als auch das E-Teaching-Zertifikat der TU Dresden können in diesem Jahr 10-jähriges Bestehen feiern.

Dieses doppelte Jubiläum möchten wir zum Anlass nehmen, um am 15./16. April 2024 im Rahmen des 6. E-Teaching-Days unter dem Motto

"Erfahrungen reflektieren, Zukunft gestalten"

auf den Wandel der letzten Jahre zurückzublicken, aktuelle Trends und Good Practices der digitalen Lehre vorzustellen und einen gemeinsamen Ausblick auf zukünftige Entwicklungen der digitalen Hochschulbildung zu wagen. Sie sind herzlich zur Teilnahme eingeladen – wir freuen uns auf Ihre Perspektiven, persönliche Erfahrungsberichte aus Ihrem Lehrtalltag und Ihre Fragen.

Es erwartet Sie ein abwechslungsreiches Programm mit Impulsgeber:innen aus der Hochschul- und Mediendidaktik,  Show & Tells zu verschiedenen inspirierenden Lehrprojekten, einer Fishbowl-Diskussionsrunde zu KI in der Hochschullehre, in der Sie auch Ihre eigenen Fragen und Anliegen einbringen-, sowie ein Marktplatz der (digitalen) Lehre, auf dem Sie verschiedene Unterstützungsstrukturen der TU Dresden für Ihre E-Teaching-Vorhaben kennenlernen können. Unsere  F.U.N. als Abend des Scheiterns bietet Ihnen die Möglichkeit, den Tag in lockerer Runde ausklingen zu lassen und humorvoll aus den Herausforderungen, die andere bei der Digitalisierung ihrer Lehre erlebt haben, zu lernen.

Der E-Teaching-Day 2024 folgt einem Blended Learning-Format. Der Auftakt der Veranstaltung wird am 15. April online stattfinden. Der zweite Teil der Veranstaltung am 16. April dient dem Austausch, der Vernetzung und Diskussion in Präsenz. Wir begrüßen Sie dafür im Dülfersaal der TU Dresden. Getränke und Verpflegung stehen Ihnen zur Verfügung.

Anmeldung

Wir freuen uns auf Ihre Anmeldung im begleitenden OPAL-Kurs.

We can look back on the Center for Interdisciplinary Learning and Teaching's spring party on April 16, 2024 with great pleasure. Over 100 guests found their way to the inner courtyard of the Fritz Foerster Building to round off the day after E-Teaching Day in a pleasant atmosphere.

The party not only provided an opportunity for networking, but also showcased the many ways in which ZiLL can support TU Dresden lecturers in their work.
Despite the unstable weather, the atmosphere among the guests was excellent.

A special highlight of the program was undoubtedly the F.U.N. (Fuck Up Night), which took place from 5:30 pm. On this occasion, lecturers shared their experiences and challenges in connection with digitalization projects in higher education. These honest insights not only contributed to the conversation, but also provided valuable lessons and inspiration for future endeavors.

Overall, the ZiLL Spring Festival was a great success despite the weather. The large number of attendees, the wide range of barbecue snacks on offer and the positive and lively atmosphere among the guests made the evening an unforgettable experience. We would like to thank all participants and look forward to more successful events in the future.

The Funds for Student Research (FOSTER) is celebrating its fourth anniversary this year as part of the Excellence Strategy "TUD 2028 - Synergy and beyond".
The program supports student research at TU Dresden in a structured way and makes it visible. FOSTER can draw an extremely positive balance after four years of existence. In 2023 alone, over 75 projects were supported by funding.

On May 16, 2024, the long-awaited networking meeting for all FOSTER grantees took place to mark the occasion. Despite weather-related challenges, we were able to hold the event as planned - and it was a complete success!

A highlight of the afternoon was Johannes Strohhäcker's science slam, in which he reported on the electrification of the rail network and his doctoral thesis. Equally impressive was the "Meadow of Opportunities" in the inner courtyard of the Fritz Förster Building. Picnic blankets and deckchairs, accompanied by tasty snacks, invited visitors to linger and network.

We also welcomed some interesting guests who represented the diversity of TU Dresden. Among them were representatives of the SLUB, the International Office (GCC and EUTOPIA), the Writing Center and the Key Competence Center. We would like to thank them for the informative presentation of their institutions.

Our guests also had the opportunity to contribute creatively to our public relations work. We are grateful for the lively participation and the many creative ideas.

Finally, we would like to thank everyone who attended our networking meeting and spent the afternoon with us. We hope that you were able to get to know many interesting projects and make valuable contacts.

We look forward to welcoming you and many other guests again at our next networking meeting!

In fall 2024, we will hold a university didactics action week.

We cordially invite you to the 7th Student Research Exposition on November 7, 2024 in the Dülfersaal at TU Dresden.

The focus is on students and their research projects. You can expect exciting pitches, an informative poster session and entertaining science slams. The most convincing contributions will be awarded prize money by a jury of experts and the audience. You can also look forward to an interactive panel discussion on the topic of "Ethics in science".
