FOSTER Final Exhibition: Seven Years of Student Research at TUD
How does an idea become a research project of one’s own? Where can student research lead—from the first experiment in the lab to an international conference? The exhibition “FOSTER—From Idea to Research” invites you to discover seven years of student research at TUD from November 2 through December 11, 2026.
The exhibition focuses on exciting research projects, personal experiences, and success stories. A map shows where students have traveled for research stays and international conferences, and our FOSTER archive contains information on all funded projects. This highlights just how diverse student research can be and what opportunities open up when students’ own scientific ideas receive support.
By the way: Over the past seven years, FOSTER has supported nearly 350 student projects —ranging from research trips and publications to the purchase of laboratory equipment.
As FOSTER comes to a close, we’re also looking at what remains: What experiences do the participants take with them? What ideas were sparked? And what impact does student research have on our university?
We’d like to hear from you, too: At our interactive station “Your Voice Counts!”, you can share your thoughts and impressions on the topic of “student research.”
