Fulminant start for the orientation program at the TUD
More than 145 enrolled students have started their first orientation Program at TU Dresden with great curiosity, anticipation and excitement - far more than originally expected.
The program, initiated by the Center for Interdisciplinary Learning and Teaching (ZiLL) , is aimed at prospective students who are still undecided about their choice of study. It enables them to try out different departments within a year, get to know everyday life as a student and make an informed decision about their future path. 80 places were initially planned, but due to the high level of interest, 160 application places were offered. The high demand impressively shows how much demand there is for a flexible start to studies and how great the enthusiasm for the new program was right from the start.
Over the next two semesters, participants will be able to attend courses from almost 50 Bachelor's and Diploma degree programs as well as 4 teacher training programs (choice of 29 subject areas), take their first exams and find out which Department suits them best. The program is supplemented by offers on choosing a course of study, career prospects, academic work, language courses, excursions as well as individual advice, mentoring and coaching.
The orientation week from 25.09. to 02.10.2025 kicked off the program: campus tours, workshops on university know-how, a tour of the SLUB and the orientation year challenge strengthened the sense of community and offered valuable insights into life on campus.
Special thanks go to all TUD faculties and Central Units who supported the successful start of the orientation program. We wish all participants an insightful, motivating year at TU Dresden and all the best for their future studies.
