Science on Stage: StuFoExpo 2026 was a complete success!

We look back on a successful StuFoExpo 2026!

On May 7, students showed how diverse and creative student research at TU Dresden is under the motto "Science on Stage" at the StuFoExpo.

Our moderator Michael Sommer hosted the event and also led the panel discussion with our guests Dr. Jens Krzywinski, Matthias Frank and Anastasia Averkova on the topic of "Student research: Curiosity turns into innovation". After another welcoming address from Vice-Rector Research and Technology Transfer, Prof. Dr. Angela Rösen-Wolff, the focus was on the students' presentations.

In twelve pitches and six science slams, the participants presented their research results with a great deal of specialist knowledge, creativity and humor and engaged in conversation with the audience. The contributions came from a wide range of disciplines: the audience learned more about the benefits of a health kiosk, sustainable concrete and the question of whether AI will be able to predict financial crashes in the future. During the subsequent break, there was plenty of opportunity to enjoy a buffet, ask questions and talk to the students about their research projects.

Another highlight of the StuFoExpo was the final award ceremony. Our jury and the audience awarded prizes to five outstanding entries:

• Lisa Lang: The European fire salamander in the city of Dresden (Jury Prize Best Poster)
• Anne Kathrin Flechsig: The blue-green fungal dye xylindein - A sustainable alternative to synthetic pigments (Audience Award Best Pitch and Poster
• Helen Lindemann, Antonia Kricke, Antonia Xenodochius: Pump'n'Sun - We are building a gluten-free bread (Jury Prize Best Science Slam)
• Philipp Wilkendorf: A presentation about very low satellites (Audience Award Science Slam)
