Smart Start - Orientation in the Early Study Phase
SMART START is a support program for students in the initial phase of their studies at TU Dresden. The goal is to support especially female and international students at the beginning of their academic journey and to proactively counteract dropouts. The project combines elements of academic and career orientation, skill development, and social integration and is implemented as part of the Orientation Program (German: Orientierungsjahr) at TU Dresden.
Participants are accompanied over one to two semesters through a modular program structure. The focus lies on individual reflection, advising, mentoring, coaching, and the development of both academic and transversal skills.
