Evaluation ZUK
Evaluation Commission:
In the summer of 2012, the TU Dresden was successful in the second phase of the Excellence Initiative launched by the German federal and state governments, securing two Clusters of Excellence, cfaed and CRTD, as well as the Graduate School DIGS-BB and the institutional strategy of the TU Dresden "The Synergetic University". The realization of the approved projects has been in full swing since November 2012.
A detailed evaluation of the individual measures of the institutional strategy by internal and external experts is planned for around the end of the fourth year of funding (the first half of the year 2016). Positively rated projects will be modified (if applicable) and continued. An evaluation committee will make recommendations regarding individual measures and assess the potential of these for the strategic development of the TU Dresden.
The Center for Quality Analysis (ZQA) of the TU Dresden is leading the drafting, accompanying, and overall coordination for the evaluation of the measures of the institutional strategy.
Evaluation Concept:
The evaluation is arranged in three steps. First, a self-evaluation of the project takes place in the form of a self-evaluation report. These are then supplemented with an online survey of the members of the university regarding the awareness and assessment of the projects/measures. In the second stage, an on-site inspection of the project/measures is carried out by a group of evaluators. The results and recommendations are each documented in the evaluators' reports. In the third and last step, the evaluation committee of internal and external experts assesses the results of the group of evaluators and creates an evaluation report with appropriate recommendations.
Surveying the members of the TU Dresden:
The survey contributes to the evaluation. It is directed at all members of the TU Dresden, meaning all students and employees. The survey is mainly concerned with the awareness of the measures of the institutional strategy and how they are rated by members of the TU Dresden.
The online survey will take place in January 2016. Through this, general assessments of the excellence initiative and the TU Dresden as a place of working or studying and also the awareness, channels of information, evaluation of the measures of the institutional strategy and summarizing ratings/future prospects will be gathered.
Participation in the survey is, of course, voluntary. The survey takes place anonymously. Not every question must be answered. There are only a few exceptions where an answer is required in order to be able to continue with the survey.
In case of questions about the survey, please contact an employee at the Center for Quality Analysis of the TU Dresden.
