In addition to the publicly sponsored projects, numerous
bilateral research projects are conducted at the Institute for
Textile Machinery and High Performance Material Technology
(ITM). These projects are directly financed by the industry and
the results obtained from these projects are protected under
confidentiality agreements. These projects include the full
spectrum of the process chain of textile and ready-made
technology available at the ITM, for example:
- Textile engineering developments and machine construction
and their implementation as prototypes.
- Mechanical engineering solutions for technical textiles,
especially protective textiles, medical textiles, reinforcing
textiles for lightweight constructions and concrete as well as
mobile textiles.
- Process innovation and new machine designs in addition to
mechatronic solutions for textile and high-precision
ready-made production machines.
- Designing textile and ready-made production machines to
meet the required demands, and the modeling and simulation of
processes.
- Modeling and simulation of machine components and
devices.
- Experimental studies on machines and the development of
application specific sensors and measuring systems.
- Modeling and simulation of textile stock and textile end
products.
- Development, production and testing of innovative textile
products (e.g. samples and limited-lot production).
- Conducting physical and chemical tests on textiles.
- Conducting preliminary studies and full studies on textile
specific topics.
- Conducting trend and feasibility studies.
- CAE-training courses for application in the
textile and ready-made technology branches.
- Continuing education programs over the entire value added
chain for textile products.
- Expert opinion reports.
