Observe nature, record biodiversity
Wild bees can be observed on sunny spring days at spring flowering plants, insect hotels and the first flowering shrubs and trees in the Botanical Garden.
Spring is taking a particularly long time this year and provides an opportunity for exciting observations of nature! Here at the Botanical Garden, it's not just plants that are coming back to life after the winter; native animals can now also be heard, observed and documented in many places. The "iNaturalist" observation platform can be used to make the findings of wild species available for scientific purposes. You don't have to be a species expert to do this! Curiosity and an inquiring mind are all you need. You can use the free smartphone app to add your georeferenced observations directly to our collection project. You can upload not only photos, but also sound recordings, e.g. of bird calls. We are looking forward to your discoveries!
The Association of Botanical Gardens has created a guide to "iNaturalist" for beginners as part of the "Bioblitz" 2025.
