The Collection

More than 10.000 plant species grow at the four locations of the Botanical Garden Dresden. Apart from the main garden in the city center of Dresden, the three branches at the Bosel near Meißen, at the Fichtelberg in Southern Saxony and in Pirna-Zuschendorf invite you for a visit.

The Botanical Garden in Dresden

Located in the city centre of Dresden, the Botanical Garden provides pleasure and inspiration to plant lovers all year round. About 10,000 plant species from different regions of the world are cultivated here within an area of 3.25 acres.

The Boselgarten

About 800 species grow within the 2.500 square meters of the Boselgarten. The collection focuses on thermophilic (warmth-demanding) species from the Elbhügelland.

Botanical Collections Pirna-Zuschendorf

The Botanical Collections Pirna-Zuschendorf focus on the horticultural history of Saxony and comprise historical cultivars e. g. of Camellia, Rhododendron and Hydrangea.

The Fichtelberggarten

At 1214 meters, the Fichtelberg near Oberwiesenthal is the highest mountain in Saxony. The rough and wet climate offers good conditions for alpine species that cannot be cultivated permanently in Dresden.
