The 4th Boysen-TUD-Research Training Group has been approved!
At the meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Friedrich and Elisabeth Boysen Foundation on October 10th, 2022 in Stuttgart, our full proposal for the 4th Boysen-TUD-Research Training Group with the overarching topic "Hydrogen Economy as a Strategic Element of a Future GreenGas Deal" (duration 01/2023 to 06/2026) was discussed and positively decided upon with much praise. All projects that applied for funding will be part of the new, interdisciplinary Research Training Group from January 2023. An absolute novelty for the Foundation is the funding of a project from the educational sciences - but it is precisely the multiplier function of such a project with regard to the acceptance of a new technology that was particularly appreciated here.
Prof. Hurtado, who was present in Stuttgart in his capacity as a trustee of the Foundation, abstained from voting during the discussion as the spokesperson for the Boysen-TU Dresden-Research Training Group, but reported very authentically on this part of the Board of Trustees meeting yesterday, Thursday, October 20th, 2022. He already informed the new PIs (Principal Investigators) about the good news on his way home to Dresden and invited them to a small snack in the rooms of the Research Training Group. Yesterday was the day, almost all the future PIs were able to make it, not all of them had met before. In a very friendly and appreciative atmosphere, they introduced themselves and their future project to each other and congratulated each other. Prof. Hurtado thanked those present for the project proposals and applications, for numerous coordination meetings within the clusters, for always providing reliable input even over several iteration rounds and for the good cooperation. A special highlight and honour was the visit of the Vice-Rector Research of the TU Dresden and at the same time advisory board member of the Boysen-TU Dresden-Research Training Group, Prof. Rösen-Wolff, who joined in the congratulations.
As already announced in the news of October 17th, 2022, suitable candidates are currently being sought for 17 projects, structured in four clusters. The follow-up applications for the four bridge projects already occupied in 2022 were also approved. These projects will be integrated into the clusters of the new Research Training Group.
