An intensive day of board meetings, colloquiums and farewells
On April 16, the Board of the Boysen-TUD-Research Training Group met at 8:00 a.m. on the fourth floor of the Fritz Foerster Building - in a "New Work" space at TU Dresden that not only enables exchange and development, but deliberately shapes it.
At the board meeting, Dr. Matthias Ritter first reported on the current status of the Research Training Group and introduced himself in his role as scientific coordinator. Prof. Hagen then outlined the thematic concept of the fifth Research Training Group; the thematic focus was further sharpened in order to be able to present it to the Advisory Board in a well-founded manner. At the same time, it was confirmed that Prof. Hagen will continue in his role as spokesperson - a sign of continuity in a phase of further development.
The day continued seamlessly into the spring colloquium: 14 doctoral students presented their current work. The majority of them are already in the final phase of their doctorates. Accordingly, the focus was clearly on results and completion strategies. The presentations were characterized by depth of content, while at the same time lively discussions and constructive feedback developed.
Presentations were given, questions were asked and ideas were developed until 6 pm. Prof. Hurtado, founding spokesperson of the RTG, was bid farewell at the joint dinner (RTG reported). In a personal atmosphere, his many years of commitment were honored and at the same time it became clear how formative his role was for the development of the Research Training Group.
A day that united many levels: setting the structural course in the morning, scientific consolidation throughout the day - and a deliberate, festive conclusion in the evening.
