Prof. John Grunewald presented the Contribution to the Development of Climate-neutral Neighborhoods in the Digital Age at the 15th Building Physics Conference of China.
In his presentation titled 'Contribution to the Development of Climate-neutral Neighborhoods in the Digital Age,' Prof. Grunewald introduced the latest advancements in building physics research and practices from Germany to the Chinese building physics community.
The Building Physics Conference is the most important conference of the building physics community in China. It was organized by the Building Physics Society of China and had more than a thousand participants in its 15th edition.
The INSTITUT OF BUILDING CLIMATOLOGY has a history of over forty years and is one of the oldest establishments of this kind in Germany. The institute houses the two chairs for Building Physics (Prof. Dr.-Ing. John Grunewald) and Building Services and Climate Responsive Architecture (Dr.-Ing. Peggy Freudenberg, Chair Representative), and its research covers a broad range, primarily focusing on building material research, software development, and knowledge transfer. It combines methods and techniques from advanced physics, mathematics, the building and construction sector, architecture, and climatology. As a result, several programs have emerged in recent years that are outstanding in many aspects: COND, DELPHIN, THERAKLES, NANDRAD, SIM-VICUS, among others. SOFTWARE
