Sixth meeting of the WTA working group 6.21 "Summer thermal insulation in existing buildings"
On Wednesday, 12.06.2024, the second meeting of the working group "Summer Thermal Insulation in Existing Buildings" for the WTA(Wissenschaftlich Technische Arbeitsgemeinschaft für Bauwerkserhaltung und Denkmalpflege e.V.) took place on the premises of the Living Lab NRW of the Bergische Universität Wuppertal. As a committee, the WTA deals with the preparation of guidelines and the organization of specialist events on current topics in building conservation and monument preservation. Its members include numerous experts from the fields of engineering practice, science and building practice. Interested parties are always welcome to get involved in the WTA, both in the new working group and in the numerous other groups.
The sixth meeting of the "Summer Thermal Insulation in Existing Buildings" working group was organized by Marc Dresden, Managing Director of Hansen und Partner Ingenieure in collaboration with Prof. Karsten Voss from the University of Wuppertal . In addition, representatives from the Leipzig University of Applied Sciences (Dr. Mario Stelzmann HTWK), Holzforschung Austria (Dr. Julia Bachinger, Head of the HFA Window Department at Holzforschung Austria) and other representatives from the field also took part, including Philipp Kelz Taubert und Ruhe GmbH, Dr. Jörg Sigmund STO, Friedrich Minkus ÖBUV Minkus.
The group is chaired by Dr. P. Freudenberg and Dr. M. Stelzmann. The aim of the working group is to summarize recommendations for action to improve summer thermal insulation in existing buildings for specialist planners. The recommendations will relate to different types of building use and different building age classes. An initial version of Code of Practice 6.21 is expected to be published in mid/end 2024.
