WISSENSARCHITEKTUR at Smart City EXPO World Congress (November 5-7, Barcelona)
WISSENSARCHITEKTUR - Laboratory of Knowledge Architecture was once again present at this year's Smart City EXPO World Congress in Barcelona (November 5-7), the "world's largest and most influential trade fair for cities and urban innovation".
Cooperation with HafenCity University Hamburg
WISSENSARCHITEKTUR presented at the joint stand of a long-standing cooperation partner: Digital City Science from HafenCity University Hamburg. Alongside them, Landesbetrieb Straßen, Brücken und Gewässer (LSBG), the SURE (Sustainable Development of Urban Regions)/TÜV Rheinland Consulting project and Landesbetrieb Immobilienmanagement und Grundvermögen (LIG) presented their smart city solutions.
Crash course in smart city strategy and co-design tool Scenerii
At the WISSENSARCHITEKTUR station, visitors were able to complete a crash course on How to co-create a Smart City strategy. Afterwards, they received a "Smart City Certificate". Prof. Jörg Rainer Noennig's team developed the strategic research design as the scientific lead of the Model Project Smart City Dresden (federal government funding project, 2022-2026).
The start-up Scenerii , which emerged from the lab, also presented its co-design tool. The web app helps local authorities to conduct flexible surveys on urban development and construction projects. Personal Scenerii Playgrounds were exhibited free of charge as part of the trade fair presentation.
Presenting research and making contacts
The team took the opportunity to present the core research areas of WISSENSARCHITEKTUR to the delegations present. The U_CAN - Ukraine towards Climate Neutrality project continues to recruit new partners in the network of stakeholders supporting Ukrainian cities on their way to climate neutrality.
The three-day appearance at the Smart City EXPO World Congress was a success for WISSENSARCHITEKTUR. Exciting contacts were made with representatives from the high-tech industry, European industry associations and local authorities, for example from Germany and Finland, as well as other civil society actors operating nationwide. Delegations from Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, the UK, the US, Portugal and Germany, among others, were introduced to U_CAN. The hope is for fruitful research cooperation.
