Phase 2 - Implementation
Table of contents
Scientific and synthesis research
As scientific leader, the team of WISSENSARCHITEKTUR is responsible for synthesis research within the project. The main focus lies on implementing the approaches developed in the strategy phase and analysing their impact; at the same time, the experimental, explorative character of the measures will be specifically promoted and supported.
The aim is to ensure the added value of the measures for urban society, planning and administration, to monitor the effects and developments in a targeted manner and to make the resulting solutions more sustainable and robust in all respects.
Replication of the Results
WISSENSARCHITEKTUR will ensure that the exemplary solutions and innovations developed in the Dresden model project are carried forward beyond the boundaries of the Dresden model project by setting objectives and tasks that are precisely tailored to the needs of the Dresden project and by providing targeted support for the individual players.
The aim is to show how exemplary digitalisation solutions can become the driving force behind integrated, sustainable and intelligent urban development in Dresden - in the context of urban planning as well as in the social and economic development of the city.
Planned research tasks
1. Scientific and technical foundations for smart city innovations
- Organising a series of themed workshops with input presentations for the administration, e.g. to translate guiding principles and measures into specific projects
- Editing a publication "Smart City: Made in Dresden" with selected innovation and focus topics, e.g. trans-sectoral operating and business models
- Provision of advanced tools for digital participation and corresponding analysis techniques for evaluating results, in particular the participation platform U_CODE and the urban planning cockpit COUP
- Presentation of innovations from the Dresden MPSC at (inter)national conferences and congress series with corresponding specialist publications
2. Strategy implementation and updating
- Updating the smart city strategy and conceptual development of the strategy document in line with new findings and developments
-
Controlling report with content documentation and processing of the results for the project and measure managers as well as for specialised offices
- Preparation and realisation of focus workshops with action teams to implement the strategy and improve the measures
- Use of digital planning and strategy tools in the model districts; written and visual processing of the results for teams and project management
- Involvement of the projects in updating the strategy; creation of updates / creation of best-case reports
3. Project synthesis and impact analysis
- Development of an indicator system for strategic and sustainability goals, acceptance and public welfare orientation in the Dresden context
- Derivation of impact matrices with project management and teams based on strategic goals and fields of action to establish a "project impact radar"
- Professional monitoring of projects and measures with regard to the overarching MPSC programme objectives (interactive "project and impact radar" tool)
- Conducting synthesis workshops with project management and action teams in the model neighbourhoods to determine impacts and lessons learnt, consolidation in replicable model solutions and strategies
4. Knowledge management, cooperation and synergy development
- Development and implementation ("facilitation") of convergence and synergy formats (e.g. workshop designs) for local stakeholder and project constellations
- Processing of results and further development of the workshops as well as structured transfer into project outlines, ongoing support, establishment of a pool of ideas with use cases
- Provision and documentation of a selection of innovative cooperation methods in a "Dresden Smart City Play Book"
- Provision of digital interaction tools (e.g. U_CODE, COUP) for co-creative use and communication in the model neighbourhoods
5. Replication, networking and scientific communication
- Participation at national level in BBSR / KTS forums, working groups and networking events, e.g. open source platform Smartfloss
-
Establishment of a TUD Smart City website geared towards the scientific target audience
- Co-operative publications with the project partners on MPSC topics in relevant journals and specialist magazines
- Presentation of progress reports and discussion of exemplary project results from and for Dresden in the (inter)national Smart City community.
