Excursion to the Schminke House at the Institute for Building Construction
On 03.05.2022, a small group of students went with Ms Rehde and Ms Scheuring from the Institute for Building Construction to the Schminke House in Löbau.
First we were given a guided tour of the house and garden, during which we learned about the history of the Schminke family and the house. In the process, we learned how the architect Hans Sharoun conceived his design individually based on the needs and processes of the family. The central idea was an organic planning from the inside to the outside. Afterwards, we explored and analysed the house on our own and exchanged ideas about our occupancy designs for a multi-generation house. In the evening, we had a barbecue together and enjoyed the ambience of the house in a convivial atmosphere.
After a restful night, we were woken up by sunrays and piano music. We started the day with breakfast and then studied the cubature of the so-called "noodle steamer" from the outside during a drawing exercise. At noon, we returned to Dresden.
Many thanks for the organisation and realisation of this interesting excursion to Mrs. Rehde and Mrs. Scheuring.
