Objectives and work programme
This project dealt with the development of an innovative louvre window that uses a load-bearing adhesive bond to significantly improve the energetic properties, while maintaining full functionality and a pleasant aesthetic. To this end, a new kind of permanent, load-bearing adhesive bond between glazing and a plastic chamber profile had to be developed and researched. This also related to the sash frame profile consisting of only two parts, with an aluminium chamber profile on the interior and a plastic chamber profile on the exterior, as well as the innovative scissor fitting. The lack of an emergency catch system as required by law and the mechanical load transfer resulted in an increased workload in terms of development and verification.
