Invitation to the Presentation of Master Thesis.

Topic: Streamlining Construction Progress-Monitoring by Introducing IFC-based Defect Management 

The aim of this thesis is to develop an automated construction progress monitoring system that integrates IFC product models and an IFC-based building defect management API into a consistent framework with an efficient and easy-to-use GUI. This involves exploring the following research questions:

1) How can the API of the software tool for defect management of Open Experience GmbH be utilized to automatically identify and update the related IFC model (product and process model)?

2) Based on the time required to resolve defects (i.e., the actual defect management process), how can the construction progress be automatically adjusted?

3) How can a user-friendly GUI that integrates work schedule and defect management be developed for such an automated system?
