Study, research, design: Civil Engineering at the TU Dresden

Civil engineers profoundly shape our environment. They plan and design buildings, industrial plants, energy plants, roads, bridges, railroads, rivers and much more. This requires a high level of professional and personal qualification. This can be acquired at the Faculty of Civil Engineering at TU Dresden.

The Faculty of Civil Engineering covers the spectrum from the basics of mechanics, building materials and construction to applications in solid construction, steel and timber construction, geotechnics, road construction and hydraulic engineering. Construction management and construction informatics are taught across the board.

Teaching and research are closely linked at the Faculty of Civil Engineering. Theories and their applications are taught at close quarters in a number of the faculty's laboratories and in its computer center. In this way, the faculty provides a comprehensive course of study and gives students the ability to shape our environment in a responsible and high-quality manner
