Institute of Geotechnical Engineering at ECCOMAS 2024 in Lisbon, Portugal

The '9th European Congress on Computational Methods in Applied Sciences and Engineering' took place from June 3 to 7 in Lisbon. The conference focused on the latest developments and applications of numerical and computational methods in engineering and applied sciences. Topics covered included multiscale modeling, data-driven modeling, digital twinning and advanced technologies for fields such as aeronautics, medicine and renewable energy.

The Institute of Geotechnical Engineering was represented at the conference by our colleague Sebastian Ullmann. He gave a presentation on numerical modeling of soils as an important part of road design.
