Five doctoral scholarships to be awarded in the SIDEC Research Training Group
With the support of Donier Nuclear Services and PreussenElektra, the TU Dresden has launched the Research Training Group "Sustainable Disposal of Power Plant Facilities - Challenges and Solutions for Technology, Environment and Society / Sustinable Innovative Decommissioning (SIDEC)".
The SIDEC Research Training Group promotes young scientists in the field of sustainable disposal of power plants. It will officially start in the summer semester of 2023 and will deal with the five cross-sectional topics of industrialisation, measurement and analysis technologies, sustainability in disposal and recycling, occupational safety and radiation protection, as well as process rationalisation and digitalisation from the decommissioning of nuclear power plants. Within these topics, five doctoral projects with a holistic research approach will be initiated. The doctoral students will work both at TU Dresden and in the respective companies and will be scientifically supervised by professors from the faculties of civil engineering and mechanical engineering.
The two professors of the Institute of Civil Engineering, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Peter Jehle and Prof. Dr.-Ing. Dipl.-Wirt.-Ing. Jens Otto are co-supervisors of two doctoral projects on the research topics "Industrialisation" and "Sustainability of Waste Management".
