Abstract:
This thesis analyses the contractual regulations within integrated project management to resolve the existing conflict of interest. Furthermore, the adapted role of project management in integrated project management is analysed in more detail. As part of this study, representative interviews were conducted with experts on the alternative handling model. After evaluating these, the conflict of interest in integrated project management could be assessed in combination with the analysis of the execution model. This was not completely resolved but postponed to an earlier project phase. Contrary to the theoretical model, the results showed that the project is not able to manage itself as intended, but that project management is required within integrated project management. The new role that project management takes on as a result of the change in the execution model could be characterised. This is largely defined by a newly designed service profile that differs fundamentally from the familiar service profile. The total cost of the new service profile is slightly lower than that of the existing conventional project management model. It is shown how the focus of services shifts to the early stages of project management, analogous to integrated project management.
