Filming in the Alfred-Hütter-Laboratory
Great excitement at the Institute for Building Materials!
Yesterday, research work in the Alfred Hütter Laboratory was interrupted for filming of the MDR programme ECHT with the follow-up title "Building boom versus climate change - building materials of the future". The two episodes deal with the topics of sustainable building, alternative construction methods, as well as environmentally friendly material cycles and recycling.
The team of reporters had a multitude of questions about these and future problems, which Prof. Mechtcherine answered during a tour of the laboratories and building materials analysis.
First, the basics and the current state of the art were explained, before ongoing research work in the areas of alternative binders and additive manufacturing was presented.
In addition to the Institute for Building Materials, the Institute for Solid Construction with the carbon concrete developed in Dresden and used in the construction of the CUBE, as well as the Federal Institute for Materials Research participated in the filming.
The two episodes will be broadcast on MDR on 4 and 11 May at 9:15 pm each day.
