SPP 2005 - Winter Workshop 2023
Once again this year, the young PhD students went to snowy Grainau in Bavaria to take part in the third Winter School of the SPP 2005 "Opus Fluidum Futurum - Rheology of reactive, multiscale, multiphase building material systems".
From 26 February to 1 March, the participants presented the results and findings of their projects so far and had a lively exchange about possible challenges of the different topics. The discussions could be further deepened in the evening in individual consultations with the invited experts.
This year's guest speakers were Arnaud Perrot (Université de Bretagne Sud, France), Dimitri Feys (Missouri S&T, USA), Franco Zunino (ETH Zurich, Switzerland), Torben Gädt (TU Munich, Germany) and Xavier Chateau (CNRS (French National Centre for Scientific Research) Ecole des Ponts ParisTech, France), who enriched the sessions with specialised presentations and their expertise in the respective fields.
As a hybrid event, this time an audience as far away as Australia could be reached.
After the interesting technical presentations in the morning, there was also the opportunity to consolidate all the newly acquired knowledge during a walk or to further expand the social network and promote collaborations. In the afternoon, the young scientists met again on the local ski slopes or while hiking and thus also strengthened the team spirit.
We would like to thank all participants and the DFG for this successful event and are already looking forward to this year's Annual Meeting.
