Crack Width Limitation in Reinforcement with Carbon Fiber-Reinforced Concrete
How do pre-damaged reinforced concrete members behave when they are retroactively reinforced with thin layers of carbon concrete? A recent publication examines the cracking behavior of large-scale, pre-damaged reinforced concrete members and shows that even under high loads, crack widths remain small. Furthermore, using digital image correlation (DIC), a good agreement with initial computational estimates of the cracking behavior was achieved.
