Continuous concrete pavements

Short description
A major challenge in road construction is the durability and maintenance of concrete pavements, as existing concrete pavements often require repair after only a few years. Concrete pavements are necessary to distribute traffic loads from long-distance traffic evenly and prevent rutting. In this context, a continuous, jointless concrete pavement reinforced with mineral-impregnated carbon fibers (MCF) will be investigated under traffic and temperature loads. Design and construction principles will be developed, and monitoring data will be collected to create a digital shadow of the road. The focus is on the deformation and degradation of the MCF-reinforced concrete pavement under cyclic and multiaxial loading.
