On the 1st of October 2017 Prof. Balzani accepted a call to the Ruhr-Universität Bochum. Since then, the institute has a deputy head, Dr.-Ing. Stefan Löhnert. Mr. Löhnert came to Dresden from the Leibniz Universität Hannover.
