The Chair at a glance

Since 2008, the Chair of Hydraulic Engineering has been headed by Univ.-Prof. Dr.-Ing. Jürgen Stamm, who at the same time acts as the speaker of the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering and holds the office of dean at the Faculty of Civil Engineering.

Focal areas of research

Research in hydraulic engineering includes finding answers to hydraulic engineering issues using hydro-numerical models or by replication in a physical model. The coupling of these two methods creates synergy effects that contribute to the further development of hydraulic engineering systems and processes.

Studies

The Chair offers students from 6 faculties a wide range of courses on hydraulic engineering topics: from hydrology and the design of waterway structures to numerical and laboratory flow modelling.
