Faculties of the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering
The Faculty of Architecture offers the degree programs Architecture and Landscape Architecture. The joint training of architects and landscape architects at one faculty is a special feature in the German university landscape. Overlapping subject areas can thus be worked on together, although they are separate degree programs.
The Faculty of Civil Engineering trains civil engineers at eleven Institutes in the fields of Structural Engineering, Construction Management, Urban Engineering and Transport, Hydraulic Engineering and Environment, Buildings|Energy|Management and Computational Engineering.
With its 22 Institutes, the Faculty of Environmental Sciences has a strong cross-sectional orientation. It combines - uniquely in Germany - the three fields of forestry, geosciences and hydrosciences under one roof. Central points in research and teaching are the sustainable development of the human habitat and the monitoring of the earth system on global, regional and local scales. In addition to several individual degree programs, the interdisciplinary MSc program Spatial Development and Natural Resources and the two English-language MSc programs Tropical Forestry and Management and Hydro Science and Engineering are offered.
With its interdisciplinary profile, the Friedrich List Faculty of Transport and Traffic Sciences is oriented towards the complexity of the transport and communications sector and thus takes into account the dynamic challenges of the transport markets in seven Institutes - on the way to the sustainable development of all transport and infrastructure systems to meet the constantly growing mobility needs of our society. It forms the teaching and research network of Transport Economics, Transport Engineering, Transport Infrastructure and Transport Technology. The Friedrich List Faculty of Transport and Traffic Sciences is the largest academic Competence Center in the field of transport sciences in Germany.
With 22 Chairs, 7 Junior Professorships and around 2,300 students, the Faculty of Buisness and Economics is one of the largest faculties of economics in Eastern Germany. The faculty's research has an international and interdisciplinary focus and is characterized by a strong methodological approach. The range of courses is broad. Students can choose between two Bachelor's degree courses (Business Administration and Economics, Business Education and Management Training), two Diploma degree courses (Industrial Engineering and Management, Business Information Systems) and three Master's degree courses (Business Administration, Public and International Economics, Business Education and Management Training).
