TUD Alumnus of the month of May
Transforming pictures into dreams
Yadegar Asisi is known for his large panorama projects. What was once a small artist workshop has become a Europe-wide studio that now shows its panoramas at eight locations in Germany and France. Because his sister was studying architecture at the TU Dresden, he thought the mixture of drawing and painting could be a substitute and came to Dresden in 1973.
He lived in three social systems, studied at two universities and worked in an architecture office before he discovered his artistic calling. Today he can also be found as an established drawing teacher on YouTube, where he introduces the inquisitive person to drawing and, in particular, perspective in a series of videos. How paper and pencil helped him from the beginning, and how he is still happy with it today, can be read here.
