En-Roads Climate-Workshop
In collaboration with Gavin Melles, Fellow at the Chair of Engineering Design, the En-ROADS Climate Workshop will take place online on 28 January between 09:20 and 10:50. This workshop helps to develop strategies to combat climate change through interactive testing of the state-of-the-art simulation model En-ROADS. The simulator was developed by Climate Interactive and the MIT Sloan Sustainability Initiative and has been deployed and distributed globally. In the workshop, you will propose climate solutions such as energy efficiency, carbon pricing, fossil fuel taxes, deforestation reduction and technical removal of carbon dioxide. Your workshop facilitator will then test your proposals with En-ROADS so that you can estimate the impact of your proposals on global temperature and other factors. Registration via: or via OPAL.
To the speaker: Prof. Dr. Gavin Melles is Professor in the Department of Architecture and Design at Swinburne University (Melbourne, Australia) and Senior International Fellow in Sustainability at the Chair of Technical Design, TU Dresden (2021-2022) and Visiting Lecturer at the Smith School of Enterprise and Environment, University of Oxford (2022-).
