Artificial intelligence (AI) such as GPT-4 enables technically skilled laypersons to perform tasks in complex areas of life without a great deal of prior knowledge. Financial advice offers an interesting use case for this. Information on both modern portfolio theory and investment products is easily available online. This means that GPT-4, whose answers are based on billions of texts from the Internet, is ideally equipped to offer financial advice in the tradition of modern portfolio theory.

Prof. Dr. Lars Hornuf from the Chair of Business Administration, in particular Finance and Financial Technology, will be giving a presentation at the COSMO WISSENSCHAFTSFORUM on the possibilities of GPT-4 for providing financial advice and will talk to interested members of the public about the latest research findings.
