"Triff die Koryphäe unter der Konifere" Series - Researching and preventing forest fires with satellites
As a result of the climate crisis, summer droughts are becoming more frequent, and forest fires are also on the rise in our latitudes. As recently as 2022, large swaths of land burned in Saxon-Bohemian Switzerland. But how can satellites provide information about the causes of fires and how to prevent them when investigating burnt areas? Find out with Prof. Matthias Forkel.
This event is part of the TUD im Dialog initiative, funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) and the Free State of Saxony as part of the Excellence Strategy of the federal and state governments.
