Dear members and guests of the Faculty of Environmental Sciences,
Let's get together 2024!
It's that time again - let's celebrate...!
We cordially invite you - students, staff, professors, alumni and interested parties of the Faculty of Environmental Sciences - to the Day of the Faculty of Environmental Sciences! The date is Wednesday, June 5, 2024: the day coincides with the Dies Academicus - a perfect (lecture-free) day to meet in person for (scientific) exchange and to find out the Faculty's current activities.
You can look forward to the inaugural lectures by Prof. Dr. Bernhard Schuldt (Chair of Forest Botany) and Prof. Dr. Sebastian Seibold (Chair of Forest Zoology).
Under the moderation of the Dean, Prof. Dr. Peter Krebs, a unique approach will be taken to summarise the work of Faculty of Environmental Sciences into nine lively but short lectures under the motto "One Slide, one Minute". A poster session will bring to light things from the Chairs of the Department of Forest Sciences in an exciting way. Students from all over the world will talk about their choice of degree course, their home country and where they want to go after graduation: "From the Faculty of Environmental Sciences to the world".
Postdocs will again have the opportunity to talk to mentors. Two workshops have been prepared: a) on the peer review process with Prof. Matthias Mauder and b) on funding programs with Vivien Lippmann (Graduate Academy).
Mandy Arndt will be available to answer questions about the new doctoral regulations, which are due to come into force this year.
The evening will end on a lively note and refreshments will be provided.
