Chairs

The Chair of Biodiversity and Nature Conservation is part of the Institute for General Ecology and Environmental Protection.

The Chair of General Ecology and Environmental Protection was closed in 2014. The former chair, Ernst Gert Dudel, led the institute for over two decades together with emeritus professor Peter A. Schmidt, who retired in 2014. Prof. Dudel currently leads the BMBF project  DENANA at the Chair of Plant and Wood Chemistry (Prof. Steffen Fischer). He is still actively involved in postgraduate teaching for the CIPSEM course.
