Application
Admission Requirements
Applicants must hold a university degree (at least B.Sc. or an equivalent degree) in forestry, or in a related field like agriculture, horticulture, land-use or regional planning, geography, water management/hydrology, biology, ecology, regional development or governance of natural resources. Moreover, applicants need proficiency in the English language (TOEFL 80 iTB (550 PBT, 213 CBT) or IELTS 6.0, certificate), if English is not the native language or medium of instruction during BSc (please attach an attestation to your application files). Courses start in October every year (winter term).
Individual funding
Applicants have to register in the TU Dresden online-registration portal SELMA. Application deadlines for the start of study in October of the same year are
- for non-EU citizens is the 31th of May, and
- for Germans and EU-citizens the 15th of July.
A list of required paper documents is given in the table below. Please send the complete set of documents to the Chair of Tropical Forestry, and make sure, that all your documents arrive at the university by the indicated date.
PLEASE NOTE: Applicants for the M.Sc. course “Tropical Forestry” must not use the “Uni Assist” application portal but directly the TU Dresden application portal “SELMA”.
DAAD scholarships
Students from developing countries are invited to apply for a DAAD EPOS scholarship. Applications for DAAD scholarships have to be submitted to the institute (address see here) not later than the 30th of October one year prior to the beginning of the course.
