New lead of Chair

From 01.03.2018 the Chair of Forest Growth and Woody Biomass Production and the new-to-establish tree-ring laboratory DendroLab is led by the dual-career couple Prof. Marieke van der Maaten-Theunissen and Dr. Ernst van der Maaten.

The native Dutchmen studied 'Forest- & Nature Conservation' and 'European Forestry' in Wageningen (the Netherlands) and Joensuu (Finland), and wrote their Ph.D.'s in forest growth research with Prof. Heinrich Spiecker in Freiburg (Germany) in 2013. Afterwards they worked as post-docs in forest ecology with Prof. Martin Wilmking in Greifswald (Germany). A focus of their research is on global change ecology.
