Institutes and Chairs
The Section of Water Science was established at the Technische Universität Dresden in 1968. Until the creation of the current Department of Hydrosciences, this remained the only organisational unit at German universities dedicated to the study of water in all its complexity, both in teaching and research.
The department comprises six institutes with nine professorships, as well as four professorships appointed jointly with the UFZ, and offers six degree programmes. Teaching and research benefit from the combination of expertise in the natural sciences and engineering.
