Hydrological-ecological models are nowadays fundamental tools in science and in water management practice. The block course teaches the theoretical basics of model-based representation of hydrosystems using mathematical methods. Case studies will be worked on using concrete ecological and water quality management issues as examples. Participants acquire an in-depth understanding of aquatic ecosystem processes, insights into current water quality management problems and practical skills in the use of modeling tools.
