Orientation of the Chair of Hydrology
In the field of fundamental research we investigate hydrologic phenomena and processes under consideration of their complex interactions with the energy and matter cycles on all relevant scales. In the field of applied research and development we strive towards innovative and applicable solution strategies to counter the global water threats such as water scarcity, climate change, the demographic development and urbanization.
Presently our priorities comprise the fields of: "Stochastic modelling of Hydrosystems". "Development of model based solutions for a sustainable management of water resources". "Hydrology of arid regions". "Water scarcity and irrigation". "Dynamics of hydrologic processes in small watersheds". Within the frame of these work fields we closely cooperate with a number of national and international partners in, e.g., New Zealand, South Africa, Israel, Oman, United Arab Emirates and, of course, Germany.
