Research at the Chair

The research priorities of the Chair of Meteorology are related to (i) Meteorology at the interface between land surface and atmosphere (land surface-atmosphere interactions), (ii) Measurement, monitoring and simulation in the microscale and mesoscale , and (iii) regional climate change and adaptation.

Research projects

Reseach

In research, we focus us on the areas of “regional climate and climate change”, "water and carbon budgets", "land use and boundary layer" and "development of measurement methods" in connection with "capacity development" (master's and doctoral education). Our regional, national and international partners are e.g. from Saxony, Thuringia and Saxony-Anhalt, Czech Republic, Austria, Netherlands, Spain, Portugal, Ukraine, Russia, China, United States and Namibia.

The research activities are organized in four working groups.
