Interesting current publications
A number of interesting publications have recently appeared in journals with an impact factor > 10, reflecting some of the diverse research in the research focus area of climate change and water extremes.
Colleagues from the UFZ Department of Aquatic Ecosystem Analysis analyzed how a reservoir affects downstream water quality under climate change conditions (doi: 10.1016/j.scitotenv.2023.169460). Prof. van der Maaten-Theunissen and colleagues from the Chair of Forest Growth and Wood Biomass Production have identified early warning signals of climate change-induced stress in spruce trees in the Eastern Carpathians ( https://doi.org/10.1016/j.scitotenv.2023.169167 ). A consortium with the participation of Prof. Seibold from the Chair of Forest Zoology investigated how climate and canopy changes lead to changes in vegetation on the forest floor (https://doi.org/10.1111/gcb.17121).
