TUD Lectures: Highly automated driving - inclusion in the field of mobility
TUD Dresden University of Technology is actively committed to promoting inclusive mobility and invites interested parties and experts to the TUD Lectures on the topic of "Highly Automated Driving." The event will take place on January 17, 2024 at 6:00 pm in the COSMO Science Forum at the Kulturpalast. As a special highlight of this TUD Lecture, an automated test vehicle that has already been used for passenger transportation in Leipzig will be exhibited and explained.
In rural regions in particular, highly automated driving opens up numerous opportunities to improve people's participation in mobility. However, how must networks, infrastructure and vehicles be designed so that this potential can be successfully realized? Several projects of the Chair of Vehicle Mechatronics are dedicated to these questions. Some of them will be presented as part of the TUD Lectures, with a special focus on inclusion. Inclusive mobility means comprehensive and accessible transportation that enables people to participate equally in the transport system regardless of their individual abilities, financial resources, or other societal characteristics.
Dr. Steffen Kutter, Head of the Automated Driving Group at the "Friedrich List" Faculty of Transport and Traffic Sciences at TUD, will present the latest developments and challenges in the field of highly automated driving. On the basis of the ABSOLUT and WALEMOBASE projects, he will focus in particular on the interface between technology and users for the presentation of inclusive mobility in suburban and rural areas, such as in Lusatia.
The event will be moderated by Sandra Siwek. It will provide an opportunity to find out about innovative approaches in the field of highly automated driving and to actively participate in the discussion on the inclusive design of mobility.

TUD Lectures
In 2021, Directorate University Culture launched the TUD Lectures event series, in which experts from various disciplines at TU Dresden take a closer look at current topics. After brief presentations, the experts will exchange ideas with interested members of the public. This TUD Lecture is one of four events in the series "United in diversity - Perspectives on inclusion and successful coexistence." The event is open to the public, will be held in German and admission is free. You do not need to register for this event. Written interpretation will be provided at all events and the venues are always accessible. The next event will take place on February 7, 2024.
