Field of Research

The scientific research object of the Chair VSTL is the transportation system in its stochastic and dynamic behaviour. The system analyses are thus not reduced to certain modes of transport but are conferrable on the problems of diverse transportation systems when adapted to the specific problem charakteristics. Therefore, the research approach to transportation systems is described as system-overlapping. The research object are transportation systems of bothe, landside and airside.

The research spectrum comprises planning and optimization in:

• Line Planning with the prototype LINOP
• Air Traffic Flow Management with prototype FMAN
• Flight Scheduling
• Analysis of Transportation Data
