Remote sensing project successfully completed
The CARES project was successfully completed after 4 years of intensive, international cooperation. It has advanced hard- and software for the optical remote sensing (cross-road as well as top-down), for plume chasing methods and for fast response roadside monitoring, also called point sampling. This is the result of 4 years of cooperation across Europe, including the Transportation Ecology chair of TU Dresden.
Summary and background reports can be found here: https://cares-project.eu/category/deliverables/
Our group will continue with analysing the sample data and recommend further Remote Sensing campaigns in collaboration with enforcement agencies e.g. to effectively filter out the most polluting vehicles.
